Below are the opinions issued by UNAR for matters relating to housing and living:

Opinion n. 25 – Rep. n. 477 del 04/07/2011

Poste Italiane publishes a tender document for the sale of its own property, establishing, among other requirements, that the subjects entitled to purchase must have the “Italian citizenship”. The Guido Pacini Foundation and ASGI ask Poste Italiane to rectify the tender regulations by informing the interested parties and, at the same time, they inform UNAR of the matter by expressly requesting that the Office decides on this matter. The opinion of UNAR  is that the specification can be considered discriminatory, urging Poste Italiane to comply with the principles of anti-discrimination.

Opinion n. 32 – Rep. n. 680 del 26/09/2011

On 23 May 2011 ASGI (Association for Juridical Studies on Immigration) – Asia for Bologna reported to the Municipality of Imola and at the same time UNAR the possible discrimination and violation of the law suffered by a citizen of Morocco, not included in the assignment of an ERP accommodation due to the lack of a job requirement. The opinion of UNAR is that the provision for foreign immigrants of the additional requirement of work constitutes a discriminatory measure, which undermines the very logic of the assistance intervention.
