Action Week against Racism: 2018 edition

<

Like every year, on the occasion of the World Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is celebrated all over the world on March 21st, UNAR promotes the Week of Action against Racism, a campaign of awareness and territorial animation that has now reached its fourteenth edition, scheduled from 19 to 25 March 2018.

The initiative provides for the launch of an information campaign entitled “A world without prejudices, running the right way” to increase a non-discriminatory conscience among public opinion, especially among young people.

During the XIV Week, many cultural and artistic events will take place in the Italian municipalities, winners of the “Public Notice for the promotion of positive actions aimed at favouring the fight against ethnic-racial discrimination through culture” and opportunities for intercultural dialogue and debate promoted by bodies and associations of the sector.

THE CHOICE OF  #FOR THE BEST
With the campaign A world without prejudices runs the right way, apart from all the usual rhetoric and format, we have dealt with the theme of discrimination, contrasting it with its vision and positive values.

We would like a dreamy atmosphere and an alienating approach. We save innocence, because the prejudices are a superstructure that prevents to accommodate, a brake to understanding. On a sweet and slow music, a child’s voice begins to sing, but the verses do not coincide with those we know, they tell of equality and rights.

Each verse is sung by a different child, until the last verse that the children sing in chorus. The rhyme rhyme lends itself to become a nice “catchphrase”. Who does not know the notes of the circle?

With a poetic approach, the text invites us to reflect on the themes of respect and plurality.

It is up to each of us to remove the prejudices in order to make everything work #forthebest.
